Narrative Still Life
For this assignment, I photographed many different narrative still lives and chose my favorite two. The top picture depicts the life of a more modern girl. She enjoys starbucks coffee, her iphone, listening to music, and money. The bottom picture represents the lifestyle of a completely different person. The dandelion shows that this person is a dreamer, while the other objects show their creativity and interests.

Photo Essay
In my opinion, cupcakes make people happy. Although I am not a diehard baker, I thought they were aesthetically pleasing and allowed me to show a range of subjects. The variety of subjects is depicted through the process of making cupcakes. Thus, all the photos work together eventhough they are of different things. Emphasis is shown throughout all the pictures, as well as texture.

Architecture
This photograph is of the Mercy chapel. I really liked the pattern that the beams on the wall created. The figures on the wall also draw the viewers eye across the photo, making a nice line. Putting the photo in black and white draws more attention to the details and shapes created by the chapel, rather than the literal objects.

Mercy Street
This photograph depicts what really happens at Mercy. In the background, there is a row of girls studying which creates nice repition and shape. I edited the picture to be in grayscale because having it in color was too distracting. I also changed the values, levels, and curves to make the picture more edgy.
